2025 Spring Conference: Call for Papers

AMJLS is pleased to announce that its 2025 Spring meeting will be held as an international conference, to promote collaborative research activities between domestic and overseas scholars on modern and contemporary Japanese literature. This will be an excellent opportunity to organize panels and exchange ideas. The conference will be held on May 31 (Sat) and June 1 (Sun) in a fully online format using Zoom.

If you wish to participate, please apply following the guidelines below. This international conference is open to members of the AMJLS.


GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATIONS AND PANELS

For individual presentations, please provide:

-title

-abstract (800 Japanese characters)

-brief explanation of the importance of this presentation vis-a-vis previous research (400 Japanese characters)

*Please note that the content of presentations should not be previously published or presented. Each time slot for individual presentations is 30’+ 10’ for Q&A.

For panel proposals, please provide:

-title

-general abstract detailing the common topic (2000 Japanese characters)

-names of organizer, presenters, and discussant (if any)

*Please note that the organizer must be an AMJLS member; the number of non-member panelists should be less than half. Panels are 120’ long, including Q&A.


The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2024.
